Kitesurf – from April to October
Kitesurf – from April to October
The old fisherman’s town of Esposende may seem calm and quiet at a first, but a closer look will reveal many treasures for anyone passionate of water sports. Flat water, steady winds, waves spots, vivid nightlife and genuine gastronomy are just a few.
With over 14km of natural coastline, it is a particularly privileged area of beauty, with some of the best beaches in the North of Portugal. Foz do Rio Cavado, Apulia and Ofir provide a unique beauty to the region, and all the beaches are protected under conservation laws.
The gastronomy of Esposende is also rich with great maritime influence, with emphasis on the bass baked in the oven, mullet, flounder, lamprey and of course, fresh locally caught seafood, all watered down with local wine from the regions of Portugal.
However, during the summer months of July and August, Esposende transforms into one of Southern Europe’s premier locations and best kept secrets. This is where the youthful, cool and beautiful people of Portugal, Spain and France come to party and take their vacations, with the cool thermal winds and hot summer sun, it´s the perfect recipe for kite boarders and sun worshipers alike.

Apart from kitesurfing, there are many other things to do in Esposende. During the calm mornings or when you are tired of kitesurfing, try one of the other activities offered by our Activity Center. You can spend more time in the water surfing and stand up paddling, improve your wakeboard skills at the cable park or just rent a bike and check out the neighborhood. On one of our special skateboards, the streets become waves for you to ride. Or you can join us for a volley ball game on the beach.
If you just want to relax, that’s perfectly fine too! Read a book on the beach or sleep in the shade of a tree in the garden.
Discover the traditional local food at one of the many restaurants near the camp. When it’s time for dinner, we usually don’t hang around the camp. Esposende offers amazing food around every corner and we make sure to show you the best spots. Every evening, we go to a new restaurant but don’t worry, the prices are as good as the food. A complete dinner including starters, main course, wine or beer, desert and coffee rarely exceeds 15€ but it will most likely exceed your expectations. Locally produced meat and fish are on the menu, and even the hungriest kitesurfer will be satisfied. Not feeling like meat or fish? Relax, there are vegetarian alternatives.
In a mix of old an young, classic, modern and very genuine, a night out can become anything you want. Unravel life’s mysteries of Porto wines and whiskeys and travel in time with pirate captain Sergio in his mythical bar Fôjo, or dance until sunrise with up to 5000 others in one of Europe’s first Pacha nightclub.
Did anyone said foam party? Enjoy the summer nights at Bib’Ofir, where an entire nightclub is set in the backyard of an abandoned hotel, making over 2000 people dance together under the stars.
Not in a dancing mood? Just sit down, relax, and enjoy a refined gin and tonic at Vermelhinho, a place for true gin lovers. And dont worry, it’s all within walking or biking distance of our camp.
Select your type of accommodation and decide if you want lessons or not.
We are running four guest houses in Esposende, prepared for you to relax, enjoy and meet friends, new ones and old ones. Choose between Standard or Superior category, and Multiple or Double/Single bedroom.
If you have any question, or if you don’t find what you are looking for in the booking system, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We can often find places even though the camp looks full.
Send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will take care of answering you as quickly as possible.
